haven't posted in a while. here's what's been going on- went to colorado for thanksgiving, joined a gym (i'm huge, now), dad came to east coast for business and stayed at our place, went to nyc with pappy (who'd never been), saw skimpy outfits with women in them otherwise known as chicago (the play, not my idea), ali cut my mullet but i haven't cut the rest of my hair, completed organic chemistry I, worked more than i would have liked...which means i worked more than 20 hours/week, and saw apacalypto . check out www.aliandben.blogspot.com for more details on the colorado trip. about chicago, the play. i know i'm going to sound like a complete, old fashioned prude, but...i think of the frog in the boiling pot syndrome. you put a frog in a boiling pot, he jumps out. you put a frog in a pot with lukewarm water and slowly heat it to boiling, he slowly meets his doom. never tested this. don't know if it's true, but the analogy will do. the point being, the frog (representing society) becomes desensitized to the condition of his surroundings. the first line of the play went something like this- "this is a play with deceit, murder, promiscuity, and adultery: all those things that we hold near and dear to our hearts" (audience laughs). wait a second. we're not supposed to laugh at that. oh...but it's just for fun. hey...gwen stefani makes terrible music just for fun...and our nation suffers for it. i say "our nation" more as a prayer that it hasn't actually caught on anywhere else. ok, i just stepped off the soapbox. by the way, apacalypto...it's incredible. terribly violent. not for the faint at heart...or anyone who thought that the passion of the christ went too far. anyone else seen it? thoughts?
